This morning I have the complete joy of being able to blog at the beach!! I absolutely love the beach!
If you follow me on Instagram, then you can see all the sunsets and sunrises at the beach with me this week. You should totally follow me on Instagram. It’s where you can learn a little more about who I am, why I decided to start blogging, and things I enjoy the most! The person behind the blog!
So, as I was walking down to the beach, I had these awesome headphones on, and listening to Suzi Whitford and her hubby John on their latest Youtube video.
As I am being a total scaredy cat of the winds picking up on the beach, I hear John talking about services, and he says even if your not an expert, you can still start a group, if you know a little bit about a topic, and do not claim to be an expert. Ding, ding, ding went the bell in my head.
Total Lightbulb moment! I’m like I can totally do that! I want to start with a Facebook group, and see how far we want to take this. I want to help other beginner blogging mommas with blogging. Maybe even host a few blog with me group sessions. What I like to do every Tuesday and Thursday morning, is what I am doing right now.
At first I was going to crop the pic, because it’s a tad bit messy. Life is Messy, and I am real, so I am leaving it!. We are at the beach, so who cares that it’s a tad bit messy. The few things that I care about are that me and my family are at the beach, enjoying life. Everyone is pretty happy and very healthy, even with Covid around. We are wearing masks in crowded areas, and I have asthma. But masks are a totally different topic that you probably won’t find on my blog.
Anyway, back to my lightbulb moment. The Ding, ding ding in my ear, John Whitford saying you can start a group if you know a little about a topic and want to develop it. That’s totally me. The Blogging Momma’s and I will be updating with link, etc for it. Keep checking back for more info. Currently, I do already have a Facebook page for the Unpopularmom, and one that I just started for the Blogging Momma’s. I just created the Instagram for it, will link that back here, had purchased the url awhile back, and did not get it hosted. However, Suzi Whitford does have a great Bluehost deal, and I will see if I can link it here.
People, especially moms like to blog about blogging, I have noticed, whether it is positive or negative. I started blogging to bust out the truth centered around the you can make $30,000 a month blogging. People love to blog about the negativity of blogging, although, I have found very little negativity, but that speaks more of my personality, I do believe. You can find negativity wherever you want, but I am a more positive person than that.
Guess what?!? You can actually make money blogging. Anywhere from $50, up to $50,000 and even more. Suzi Whitford has made enough to retire her and her husband, pay off their mortgage, and even way more than that. I haven’t looked in awhile, as to how much she has made in total, but I will find out what her last reported amount is.
While I haven’t made that much, I am at about $600 in total, and I have only been blogging for a few months, that’s it. I originally launched my blog July 20th. As my usual unpopular way of doing things, I launched it way to early. I did have an audience, though. Thankfully! Mainly from YouTube and Instagram. I only started my Instagram account after listening to Sunny Lenarduzzi talk about Instagram and why you should have one.
Now, while $600 isn’t a lot, it’s a great start. If my boss wouldn’t have known that I blog, she wouldn’t have hired me to set one up for our office, or create and update her Instagram account. Or someone else hiring me to create their landing page, and Instagram account. While those aren’t the biggest projects around, they are a wonderful starting point. Editing pictures, and the knowledge of setting up these things for people that don’t want to do it their selves. Their are a lof of people that act as a social media manager for companies, influencrs, etc. Then there is affiliate marketing that I have made some money through, mainly Amazon. I will be doing some future blog posts about affiliate marketing for beginners to, and it’s one thing we will cover in the Blogging Momma’s group.
